Meet Gene Paul Gayol
Gene Paul Gayol is a Cuban-American composer, singer-songwriter, keyboardist, producer, and educator born and raised in Miami. He has contributed to Oscar® and GRAMMY® award-winning projects and collaborated with a wide range of artists including Arthur Baker, Mylène Farmer, Yard Act, Remi Kabaka Jr. (Gorillaz), Kishi Bashi, the New World Symphony, Nu Deco Ensemble, Alejandro Sanz, Marc Anthony, Carlos Vives, David Bisbal, Diego Torres, Bacilos, and Jorge Villamizar (Bacilos).
Most recently, Gene Paul was a featured instrumentalist on the record-breaking soundtrack for Disney’s Oscar® and GRAMMY®-winning film Encanto.
Working alongside Jorge Villamizar, Gene Paul co-wrote “Amanece” for Diego Torres, released as a single on Torres’ album Atlántico A Pie, which went on to receive a Latin GRAMMY® nomination.
His debut feature-length film score for the independent film CLOCKED is currently premiering on the festival circuit, made The Popcorn List (2025) and is gaining critical recognition.
On New Year’s Day 2023, the live video release of “Phoenix Rising” introduced Avenoir, a collaborative project born out of the pandemic with longtime friends and fellow musicians.
